Meet the Group

Robert Hartfield Jr., David Hartfield Sr., and Chauncey Crosby are known throughout the West Coast and Bay Area for gospel ministry as The Hartfield Brothers. The son's of the legendary Rev. Robert Hartfield Sr., of the Golden West Singers, Robert and David Hartfield were born into a gospel musical family, it was evident the path in the world of entertainment was mapped out at an early age.

Inducted into the Bay Area Blues Society Hall of Fame in 2006, The Hartfield Brothers have appeared with such recording artists as The Whispers, Lenny Williams, Larry Graham, Graham Central Station, The Pointer Sisters, Jesse James, Ike and Tina Turner, The Isley Brothers, and many more.

Before returning to their gospel roots, the brothers performed at various Bar Area venues, including The Sportsman Club, The Playboy Club, Ester's Orbit Room, the Savoy Club, and many others. They performed at the Cal Expo '70 in Sacrametno California with Ray Charles, Tony Bennett, The Main Ingredients and Lou Rawls.

Group Members

Robert 'Bob' Hartfield, Jr.
Known throughout the Bay Area for his soft and high falsetto voice, and as being on the best ever first tenors. He received his singing training along with this brother in the church. Bob was drafted in the Armed Forces where he was in the special services - the United States Army Marching Band where he was the Drum Major-leading the band in parades all over Europe and even playing before the Queen of England. Bob returned home, The Hartfield Brothers were reunited and began regaining popularity back once again.

David Hartfield, Sr.
"The Essence of Love" is an extraordinary multitalented singer, who emerged from the San Francisco Bay Area with an unmistakable voice and irressible spirit. David's talent is captivating and spirituality electric. David is an entertainer whose voice is so sweet that is brings a joyful noise to the ears.

Chauncey Crosby
Chauncey's love for music started in early grade school as he flourished in the school band playing the flute and later the Saxophone. As years progressed he became involved in the church band as well as with local groups and jazz bands. Years ago his brother in law, a DJ at KPFA encouraged him to check out the then "Hartfield Brothers" He did and the rest is history. He has been singing his heart and soul out with this group of men ever since.
